Jamie grew up in upstate NewYork, and from a very early age played almost every sport accessible to him. In particular, he started Folk-style wrestling at age ﬁve and continued to wrestle and play football throughout his senior year of high school. In 1998, Jamie was introduced to Muay Thai and Submission Wrestling in the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a TACP. In 2002 he moved from New York to San Antonio and began training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu shortly thereafter under Kenny McClure.
